Eugene Halion

Very sad news this morning of the sudden passing of former Galway United striker Eugene Halion. Eugene was a prolific scorer at Connacht Senior League level and also featured for the clubs first team. He was held in very high regard by United supporters and was one of a select band of footballers from Tuam to play in the League of Ireland. Our sympathies to the Halion family and Eugenes many friends in football.

Launch of Euro 2012 Merchandise Tonight in Monroe's

GUST (Galway United Supporters Trust), in association with the Macron, the Peter McVerry Trust and the family of the late Eamon "Chick" Deacy will launch their Limited Edition Euro 2012 merchandise in his honour tonight Tuesday, April 10th, at Monroes Tavern, Dominick Street, Galway (7.00pm).

Proceeds in aid of GUST and the Peter McVerry Trust.

Galway United under 19's played their final game of the season at the East United ground in Castlepark today. They went out on a high winning 4-3, in what will be the last game under the Galway United name for the foreseeable future. These are some photos from the game.
